Day 2: Bairnsdale - Eden - Rose Bay - Myall Lakes
DAY 2: Back on Track!
What a day, after weather delays in Bairnsdale, got away and after half an hour the low cloud lifted for a stunning run around the coast. Gabo island is the turning point for northwards, and soon after was making a splash’n’go on Two Fold Bay, Eden, where Goble & McIntyre stopped to refuel. Tracking north over gorgeous longer coves and bays, I always get excited for a Sydney Harbour flight and a splash’n’go on Rose Bay, where they originally stopped for the night- not so easy these days, I wouldn’t fancy leaving the plane on the beach overnight…so I kept going to Myall River to get back on track… G&M landed on the river due horrendous weather not unlike last week in Sydney and were stuck for 2 days… Today the river has a 4 knot speed limit, so landing is not possible (i touch down at 55 knots) but the Myall Lakes are ok and simply gorgeous… my friends Ian and Sophie where there with their Dad Craig who lives nearby to guide me in to a protected cove at a campsite - Huzzah indeed 🤗. Off to Southport today, cheerio.
